On May 20, 2026, representatives of the State Institution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky" took part in the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Higher Education Students and Young Scientists "Promising Directions of Modern Science and Education", organized by Donbas State Pedagogical University.
Within the framework of the section "Inclusive and Special Education in the Context of Social Challenges: Interdisciplinary Approaches and Interaction, and Professional Sustainability of a Specialist", Hanna Borysivna Sokolova, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Special Education, spoke from Ushynsky University.
In her welcoming speech, Hanna Borysivna emphasized the importance of developing inclusive and special education in the context of modern social challenges, the need for interdisciplinary interaction of specialists and supporting the professional viability of teachers, psychologists and special educators.
During the conference, a report was presented on the topic: “Theoretical and methodological principles of psychological support for children with special educational needs in the context of modern socio-educational transformations”. The report highlighted current approaches to organizing psychological support for children with special educational needs, outlined the main areas of support for families and teaching teams, and also focused on the need to introduce innovative practices into the inclusive education system.
The participation of representatives of Ushynsky University in the event contributed to the expansion of scientific and professional dialogue, the exchange of experience between higher education institutions and the strengthening of cooperation in the field of inclusive and special education.
