Within the framework of the VI All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Challenges of Socio-Political Development: Political, Legal and Socio-Economic Dimensions” on May 22, 2026, speeches by honored guests were held.

Doctor, Candidate of Political Sciences, diplomat, wife of the Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul, member of the Association of Spouses of Ukrainian Diplomats Ms. Lyudmila NEDILSKA presented a report “Cultural Diplomacy in the Activities of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul (2022 - 2026). An interesting, informative, inspiring report by the distinguished guest revealed important issues of forming a new culture of international relations, which involves the ability to use soft power. Today, cultural diplomacy is becoming effective, since culture is the basis for identity, and in conditions of war, cultural diplomacy is a tool for Ukraine’s security. The numerous initiatives of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, which Ms. Lyudmila Nedilska spoke about, are aimed at strengthening the attractiveness of Ukraine, building the brand of Ukraine in the East, which certainly influences the decision to support Ukraine. During 2022-2026, Ms. Lyudmila is actively involved in the implementation of cultural projects of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, for example, at Istanbul University, where the Faculty of Ukrainian Studies operates, a Bookshelf was opened.

Cultural diplomacy in the activities of the Consulate General in Istanbul in the period from 2022 to 2026 is an example of soft power and modern humanitarian leadership.
