On May 23, 2026, the Ushynsky University Mental Health Center hosted a barrier-free educational meeting “Language of Support”, dedicated to the issues of psychological support for people with hearing and speech impairments.
The event was implemented as part of the “Weeks of Good Deeds” initiative of the PO “Psychological CDK Space”, the PO SURDO School and the Ushynsky University Mental Health Center.
During the meeting, clinical psychologist Andrii Bortov, together with a sign language interpreter and head of the PO SURDO School, Alyona Sinyavska, discussed with the participants the issues of self-esteem, emotional support, interpersonal interaction, communication difficulties and psychological well-being.
A feature of the event was the open format of communication with full-fledged interpretation in sign language, which allowed to ensure the accessibility of psychological education and create a safe space for dialogue and support.
Such initiatives are an important step in developing a barrier-free environment, promoting psychological culture, and supporting mental health in society.
