Ushynsky University is a co-organizer of the roundtable "Accessibility Roadmap: Challenges and Solutions"

On May 27, 2026, as part of the National Accessibility Week, the State Institution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky" co-organized the round table "Accessibility Roadmap: Challenges and Solutions", which was organized and held at Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University.

The event brought together scientists, educators, specialists in the inclusive sphere, representatives of public organizations and international partners to discuss current issues of ensuring the accessibility of the educational environment, the development of inclusive education, support for persons with special educational needs, as well as modern challenges and practical solutions in the field of accessibility.

The representatives of leading higher education institutions of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute for the Development of Education, the Ukrainian Association of Correctional Teachers, as well as international partners – Família Kolping em Lisboa Associação - joined the round table.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of Ushynsky University, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Hanna Vyacheslavivna Muzychenko addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in the formation of an inclusive and accessible educational space.

As part of the round table, representatives of Ushynsky University made reports: Hanna Borysivna Sokolova, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Special Education - with a report "Psychological Support for Children with Special Educational Needs in an Inclusive Environment" and Iryna Mykolaivna Orlenko, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor of the Department of Special and Inclusive Education - with a report "A Society of Equal Opportunities: Acceptance as the Basis of Inclusion".

During the discussion, participants discussed ways to improve the inclusive education system, create a barrier-free educational environment, provide psychological and social support for individuals with special educational needs, and the importance of creating a society of equal opportunities.

The roundtable became an important platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience, and development of joint initiatives to create an accessible and comfortable educational space for everyone.
