Studdents majoring in C4 (053) Psychology, together with a teacher of the Department of Theory and Methods of Practical Psychology, practicing psychologist Iryna KARPICH of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Psychology and Social Sciences, took part in the international project Mindrise: The Respite, Recovery & Resilience Camp, which is aimed at developing psychological well-being and personal resilience among students. The program combines modern scientific approaches to mental health, mindfulness practices, and the formation of sustainable communities.
The project participants got acquainted with the concept of Whole Health, which considers human health through the interrelationship of physical, psychological, and social well-being. The program includes lectures and practical classes in neuroscience, stress management, mindfulness, breathing practices, yoga, tai chi, art and music therapy, as well as group discussions dedicated to the development of personal and social resilience.
Special attention is also paid to the professional development of teachers. The project plans to hold meetings dedicated to modern teaching methods, student motivation, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in the educational process.
The speakers of the program are leading scientists from Virginia Tech (USA) - Dr. Matthew F. Komelsky, Director of the Adaptive Brain and Behavior Minor program, and Dr. Zhou "April" Fu, a lecturer at the School of Neuroscience, whose research combines neuroscience, mindfulness, and art to support student well-being and develop resilient communities.
Participation in the project is an important opportunity for international professional exchange, familiarization with innovative approaches to providing psychological support to young people, and the introduction of best global practices in the training of psychologists.
