Ushynsky University in Lviv: training teachers to implement the course "Entrepreneurship and Innovation"

On August 25–28, 2026, in Lviv, the team of the South Ukrainian Center for Professional Development of Managers and Specialists in the Socioeconomic Sphere of Ushynsky University conducted training for teachers of secondary education institutions within the framework of the implementation of the author's course by Mykola Viknyansky "Entrepreneurship and Innovation". Teachers from 46 educational institutions in Lviv joined the project.

For Ushynsky University, this is a new large-scale experience in implementing a professional development program for teachers aimed at preparing teachers for the practical implementation of the author's concept of the course directly into the educational process of secondary education institutions.

The direction at Ushynsky University is coordinated, the development of content and methodological support for training is carried out by Natalia Chernenko, Professor of the Department of Educational Management and Public Administration, Director of the South Ukrainian Center for Professional Development of Managers and Specialists in the Socioeconomic Sphere, guarantor of the EPP "Pedagogy. Management of an Educational Institution" specialty A1 Educational Sciences.

The training of teachers was provided by a team of trainers from the South Ukrainian Center for Professional Development of Managers and Specialists in the Socioeconomic Sphere of Ushynsky University: Natalia Chernenko, Olha Papach, Olha Zadorina, Tetyana Hzhybovska, Oksana Petinova, Olena Soloveichuk.

The Ushynsky University team expresses gratitude to the author of the course, Mykola Viknyansky, for the concept, trust, and opportunity to participate in its methodological development and practical implementation.

The implementation of the initiative was made possible thanks to Lviv’s openness to educational innovations and the support of the city. Pavlo Sheremeta, former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, first dean of Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, former president of Kyiv School of Economics, expert in strategy and management, and Mykhailo Taran, advisor to the president of NaUKMA on innovations, head of the direction for searching and attracting applicants, also joined the implementation of the educational initiative.

46 educational institutions, dozens of trained teachers and four days of intensive teamwork. The next stage of the project begins on September 1, 2026 - transferring the acquired experience directly to school classrooms.

After all, true educational innovation begins not only with a new technology or methodology, it begins with a change in the way of thinking - of the teacher and the student.
