On September 10, 2026, the first thematic meeting was held at Ushynsky University within the framework of CHESN.Fest — the festival of academic integrity, which during September–October will unite students, scientific and pedagogical workers and university specialists around the principles of honest learning, teaching and research.
The first event of the festival — “From the source to the qualification work: the integrity of a master’s student” — was focused on master’s students. The meeting was attended by first and second-year students majoring in A1 “Educational Sciences” and teachers of the Department of Educational Management and Public Administration.
The participants spoke about academic integrity not only as a set of formal requirements for academic texts, but primarily as practical rules for educational and research work. It was about finding and using scientific sources, working with repositories, correct citation and registration of references, preventing academic plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Special attention was paid to the issues of authorship and responsibility during the preparation of academic papers.
An important component of the meeting was the discussion of the use of artificial intelligence in educational and scientific activities. Master's students considered the principles of responsible use of digital tools and the need to comply with the requirements of academic integrity when working with them. The practical focus of the meeting allowed participants to update their knowledge about the preparation of academic texts and discuss typical problems that arise in the process of working on qualification research.
HONEST.Fest will continue at Ushynsky University in September and October. The following thematic events are planned for bachelors, scientific and pedagogical workers, administrators of the StrikePlagiarism system and postgraduate students. The festival is held at the initiative of the Academic Integrity Promotion Group of Ushynsky University with the support of the Educational and Research Service, the library and the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduate Students, Doctoral Students and Young Scientists.
