On April 17, 2026, the Department of Musical Art and Choreography hosted the defense of the dissertation of the candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialty 011 Educational, Pedagogical Sciences of the National University of Music and Choreography, a citizen of the People's Republic of China, Bian Nannan, on the topic: "Theoretical and methodological principles of training future masters of musical art for vocal and performing self-regulation." The scientific supervisor is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor H. Yu. Nikolai.
In her work, the candidate updated and developed a methodology for forming a very important quality of a vocalist-performer - vocal and performing self-regulation. The relevance is due to the requirements for the quality of artistic interpretation of masterpieces of musical art, since the success of the singer's activity is directly dependent on his ability to manage his own psycho-physical states, the strength of empathy, artistic and emotional expressiveness, the presence of perfect vocal technique, the original solution of interpretative intentions, etc.
