On April 17, 2026, the Department of Musical Art and Choreography hosted the defense of the dissertation of the candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialty 014 Secondary Education (Musical Art), a citizen of the People's Republic of China Li Haoyuan on the topic: "Formation of musical and performing competence of future teachers of musical art based on the Ukrainian piano school." The scientific supervisor was M.G. Demidova Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.

In her work, the candidate highlighted the current issues of professional training of future teachers of musical art, in particular, the role of the Ukrainian piano school as an important factor in the development of performing skills and pedagogical competence.

The defense took place at a meeting of a one-time specialized academic board consisting of:
