Students of the Faculty of History and Philology visited the XXVI All-Ukrainian Exhibition-Forum "Ukrainian Book in Odesa Region"

On June 5, students of the Faculty of History and Philology, together with the Head of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature, Associate Professor G.A. Avksentieva and Associate Professor of the Department N. I. Kerdivar, visited the XXVI All-Ukrainian Exhibition-Forum “Ukrainian Book in Odesa Region”, which traditionally took place in the Odesa National Scientific Library and became an important event in the cultural life of the region.

The forum presented new books from leading Ukrainian publishing houses, organized presentations of publications, creative meetings and discussions with the participation of writers, scientists, librarians and connoisseurs of the Ukrainian word. Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the modern literary process, communicate with authors and discover new book projects for themselves. Meetings with famous Ukrainian writers, including Andriy Kokotyukha, Taras Fedyuk, Vitaliy Zapeka and other representatives of modern Ukrainian literature, were of particular interest.

One of the most striking events of the forum was a creative meeting with the contemporary Ukrainian writer, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine Tamara Horikha Zernya. During the conversation, the author spoke about her creative path, the features of work on the novels "Dotsia", "The Principle of Intervention" and "Sheptukha", shared her own thoughts on the role of a writer in modern society and answered questions from the audience.

Participation in such events contributes to the expansion of students' cultural worldview, deepening their professional knowledge and forming an interest in modern Ukrainian literature.
