A round table on "Ukraine: Economic and Legal Review"
October 24, 2017, the Department of Political Science and Law held a round table discussion on the topic "Ukraine: Economic and Legal Review" on the basis of the Odessa National Scientific Library with students of the specialties " Political Science" and "Law". The students discussed important issues of the modern economy, namely: education as a factor of economic growth; achievements of Ukraine in various fields; the ecological state and demographic situation in Ukraine, the negative consequences of integration of the Ukrainian economy, etc.

A visit of the OSCE monitoring mission to Ushynsky University
October 23, 2017, at the invitation of the Department of Political Sciences and Law and the Center for Socio-Political Sciences "Politickus", a visit to the University of the representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine took place. The event had the informational and presentation content. The observers of the mission, Mr. Vincent Taichon and Mr. André Lorsch, reported on the history of the creation of this international organization, the OSCE mission in Ukraine, in the Donbass and in Odessa. The students of the specialties "Political Science", "Law", "Journalism" and "Management of Socio-Cultural Activities" of the first and second year of training were able to ask questions to the observers of the international mission, as well as to learn about the peculiarities of collecting and presenting information received by representatives of the mission in the conflict zone and in Odessa in particular. The agreement has been reached on further cooperation with this organization in the framework of joint events for students of Ushynsky University.

October 12, 2017, the Political Science and Law Department and the Center for Socio-Political Studies Politkus invited a military journalist Sergiy Bratchuk to meet with students of the specialties "Political Science s" and "Law".
It was about the mission of "Black Tulip", about the war on the Donbas in the war. At first glance, we heard about military events, about the wounded and those who will never return, but whose efforts are defending Ukrainian independence.
The frank conversation was supported by poetry lines, authored by Sergei Bratchuk himself. His collection "The War in Peaceful Time" was written during the war and about the war. As a military journalist, Sergiy Bratchuk took out documentary films about the war and the military, volunteers and volunteers, which was also presented to students.

PRESENTATION OF THE NEW BOOK OF MYKOLA PALTSYSHEV
October 10, 2017, a presentation of the book "Ecclesiastes of Pedagogy" was presented at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky. The author is a well-known Odesa teacher, Paltyshev Mykola Mykolayiovych.

M. Paltyshev is the teacher-innovator, People's Teacher of the USSR, candidate of pedagogical sciences, honorary doctor of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, laureate of the highest pedagogical awards. He is widely known in pedagogical circles as a "phased education system" developer, which has been introduced in all schools in Ukraine. He is the author of more than 300 scientific and methodological works, including 11 books for teachers.

"Gender in the Revolution, War and Peacebuilding"
October 6-8, an international scientific and practical conference "Gender in the Revolution, War and Peacebuilding " was held at Ushynsky University. The organizers of the conference were the Department of Political Science and Law of Ushynsky University (Odesa, Svetlana Numkina), the NGO Women in the War (Paris, Carol Mann), and the NGO "Center for the Development of Democracy" (Kyiv, Ella Lamakh).
The greetings to the participants had the following: Oleksiy Chebykin (Rector of Ushinsky University), Yuriy Dimchoglo (deputy chairman of the Odesa Regional Council), Yuri Maslov (chairman of the Odesa Regional Council's Deputy Group "EU Strategy for the Danube Region"), Sylvain Rigole (postdoc on scientific issues and university co-operation of the French Embassy in Ukraine), Carol Mann (director of the Public Organization "Women in War" (Paris), Ella Lamakh (head of the NGO "Center for the Development of Democracy" (Kyiv), Svetlana Naumkina (head of the Department of Political Science and Law).
The key speakers at the conference were Maria Berlinska (director of the Aerodrome Support Center, Ukraine), Margaret Owen (lawyer, director of the Widows for Peace (Great Britain) NGO, Goliya Golan (peace activist in Israel, Hon. Professor, University of Jerusalem, Israel).
The participants of the conference tried to assess the achievements and losses of women in personal and collective rights and opportunities, their impact on gender relations and world-building, discussed the concept of modern hybrid wars and related challenges, as well as recommendations on the protection of women's rights during wars and post-war defense and law enforcement.

Students Against Corruption
October 4, with the participation of the Department of Political Science and Law and the Center for Socio-Political Studies "Politicus" at Ushнnsky University, the events were organized within the framework of the second stage of the Students Against Corruption Informational and Educational Project. The representatives of the NABU spoke about the essence of corruption, the main directions of anti-corruption policy, and the work of anti-corruption detectives. The most active students were tested for physical training for detectives.
