September 25-26, 2017, a delegation from Harbin Engineering University visited South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky.

The scientists from the People's Republic of China took part in the reporting conference on the results of the Educational and Cultural Center of “Confucius Institute” at Ushynsky University in 2016-2017, as well as in the ceremony of the creation of the Association of Alumni of the International Program of University Partners for the Study of the Chinese Language and Culture.

The Chinese side participated in the events: the rector of the Harbin University of Engineering, professor Yao Yu, head of the international department, Liu Ziqiang, deputy head of the Alumni Association Guo Fang, Professor of the Institute of Communications Guo Qiang, Associate Professor of the Institute of Economics and Management Gao Tianmin, co-director of the Confucius Institute Associate Professor Din Xin.

The Ukrainian side was represented by: Rector of the University of Ushinsky, academician    O. Ya. Chebykin, vice rector for international relations and scientific and pedagogical work of the complex, assistant professor A.M. Ananyev, rector’s assistant professor A.V. Muzychenko, chief accountant R. L. Kondratieva, head of the department of physics, coordinator of international scientific projects professor O. R. Gokhman, professor of the department of physics V.V. Golovanov, associate professor of the department of physics V.K. Zhukovsky, co-director of the Institute of Confucius, assistant professor O.V. Popova.

The event was started with a welcoming speech by academician A. Ya. Chebikin and professor Yao Yu, partner universities.

The co-directors of the Confucius Institute Educational and Cultural Center of Ushynsky University O.V. Popova and Din Xin presented the annual report on the implementation of the tasks of the international project for 2016-2017.

Within the framework of the work of the scientific platform, Professor O. R. Gokhman informed participants about the results of the implementation of the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding on joint projects in the field of natural sciences concluded with Harbin Engineering University. The leading scientists of the department of physics professor V.V.  Golovanov and associate professor. V.K. Zhukovsky presented new directions of scientific collaboration of partner universities.

During the forum the ceremony of the foundation of the Confucius Institute Association of Ushynsky University and Harbin Engineering University was held. On this occasion, the students of Ushynsky University and the students of linguistic and cultural training organized a presentation of their creative achievements.

The department of theory and methodology of physical culture and sports and university sports club organized and conducted a meeting of students of 1 and 2 years of studying of the faculties of physical education and physical rehabilitation with the participant of the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012, the numerous winner of European athletics, a graduate of our university (2006),  master of sports of international class Valentyna Horpynych.

The students were very interested in the difference between the preparation of the Ukrainian national team of athletics and the preparation of leading national teams of other states, such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Jamaica, athletic load regimes, proper nutrition during preparation and in the period of competitions, peculiarities of climate-based training conditions, prospects for the development of athletics in Ukraine and the world, etc.

September 18-19, 2017, the representatives of mass media from the People's Republic of China visited South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky during their visit to Odesa.

During the meeting with Academician O. Ya. Chebykin, the Chinese journalists’ delegation was headed by Mr. Cai Zheng, President of the Association of Photo conferences of the Province of Tsinghai. The foreign guests had an opportunity to get acquainted with the main directions of Ushynsky University, the state of international cooperation with the higher educational institutions of the Celestial Empire, the realization of academic mobility programs, study of the Chinese language and culture within the framework of the project "Educational and Cultural Center "The Confucius Institute", features of professional training of students, which came from China to study and future employment of the alumni and their return to the country.

The students and trainers of the Faculty of Music and Choreography of  Ushynsky University, headed by Dean N. K. Bilova, prepared for the guests from the PRC a concert presentation of the creative achievements of the participants in the educational process, told about the professional achievements of graduates who successfully work at leading universities, theaters, educational centers of Beijing, Gongzhou, Harbin, Shanghai and other cities of the People's Republic of China.

September 8 - 17, 2017, the University hosted the Day of Physical Culture and Sports, the All-Ukrainian Olympic Lesson and the Olympic Week.

The competition was attended by first-year students.

September 15, 2017, at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, on the initiative of Professor Olena Vasylivna Liseenko, Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Management of Socio-Cultural Activities, there was a presentation of the new analytical platform of the Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Harvard University "MAPA. Digital Atlas of Ukraine" of Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Researcher of the Ukrainian Science Institute of Harvard University Victoria Sereda.

The project "MAPA. The Digital Atlas of Ukraine", through new forms of spatial visualization of historical or sociological data, offers unique opportunities for scientists planning to explore Ukrainian society. It has two branches, which can be conventionally called historical and modern. The modern part includes the "History and Identity" and "Language" modules, as well as individual visualization of statistical data for 1989-2014. The project allows to apply simultaneously spatial and diachronic analysis, to create own maps for student's abstracts, scientific publications or dissertations, to form new research questions and tasks.

September 12, 2017, a forum on investment with the participation of the Chinese delegation of the Baoan District took place in the conference center of the Confucius Institute Educational and Cultural Center of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after  K. D. Ushynsky, within the framework of the international project "One Belt - One way "initiated by the Government of the People's Republic of China.

Among the promising vectors of international cooperation between Ukraine and China, the forum participants identified the following:
