September 2, 2017, the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, with the support of the Dean of Foreign Languages, held a solemn event devoted to the birthday of the city of Odessa, in the area of the monument to the dead sailors and vessels of the Black Sea shipping company.

The program of the event included: a photo shoot of the residents of Southern Palmyra in Chinese national costumes with the participation of the dragon and the panda, the work of the exhibition tents "Learn China with us" and the studio of hieroglyphics "Write your name ... in Chinese".

September 2, 2017, an improvised "City of Professions" was deployed in the Odessa Central Park of Culture and Recreation named after Taras Shevchenko. The state institution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky" was represented at this professional orientation forum by the psychological service and social and humanitarian faculty.

The head of psychological service - practical psychologist M.P. Litvinova presented to students of different schools, gymnasiums, lyceums of Odessa specialties which can be obtained at 11 faculties and institutes of Ushynsky University. The schoolchildren with interest are familiar with the printed information which was prepared for them by all faculties.

Special interest of university entrants and schoolchildren was caused by the master class "Sand therapy" by candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor of the theory and methodology of practical psychology T. V. Sinelnikova, who also conducted classes for acquainting students of educational institutions with the profession of a psychologist.

I warmly congratulate all lecturers, students and parents on the Day of Knowledge!

Let the 2017-2018 academic year be a new stage of cognition for everyone who crossed the threshold of Ushynsky University, gives all the high and bright feelings, opens wide circles for the youth, and delivers the products of their efforts to the teachers in the educational and scientific fields!

August 27-31, a training workshop on art therapy and conflictology "Pedagogical and therapeutic work with children and adolescents traumatized by war" with the leading specialists of the stART-international e.V. (Germany) for 120 volunteers, psychologists and educators took place in Odessa on the basis of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after     K. D. Ushynsky.

This event was organized within the framework of the project "Overcoming psychostimulation and prevention of PTSD in children and adolescents for the future of Ukraine" by "Europe without Borders" Society in cooperation with the Association of Art Therapists of Ukraine and "Rehabilitation Center of St. Paul" supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and on behalf of the German Government.

The specialists are: Francesco Coccarto (MSc in Intercultural Communication, Master of Economics and International Policy, since 2008 – he has been working with refugees within the framework of the stART project, responsible for programs abroad, Susanna Endrejecca (a school teacher with a seniority of over 25 years, a teacher at various educational institutions, mathematician, eurythmist); Carolina Glas (pre-school teacher with more than 30 years of experience, teacher, in particular in foreign educational institutions), Uwe Mollnitz (a scientist in economics and political science, a mediator, a mediator, a coach) and others.

August 18-26, 2017, the delegation of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, headed by the Director of the Department of Personnel Certification and Licensing of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Dr. of Pedagogocal Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine A.G. Shevtsov visited Harbin Engineering University (Harbin, China) and the Main Directorate of the Confucius Institutes (Beijing, China) within the framework of the implementation of the Ukrainian-Chinese educational program "Innovation in the system of school and university education of the PRC".

August 18-21, SEANERGY Global Sport Expo - the first large-scale sports exhibition was held in Odesa, which is held with the support of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Odesa City Council.
